Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect your email address to notify you when we launch. We do not sell it. We do not share it with advertisers. You can remove yourself at any time by emailing hello@humansentences.com.

1. Who we are

Human Sentences ("we," "us," or "our") operates humansentences.com and related domains including humansentences.ai and humansentences.app (collectively, the "Service"). We are the data controller for the personal information we collect about you.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the Service.

Information you give us directly:

  • Email address (when you join the waitlist)
  • Sentence content and associated metadata (when the Service launches and you submit a sentence)
  • Display name or handle (optional, when the Service launches)

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address (used for security and abuse prevention; not stored long-term)
  • Browser type and operating system (aggregated analytics only)
  • Referring URL and page visited
  • Date and time of visit

We do not use third-party advertising trackers, Facebook Pixel, or Google Analytics. We do not build advertising profiles.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send you one launch notification email when the Service opens
  • Communicate essential service updates (no marketing without your consent)
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and spam
  • Comply with legal obligations

We will not use your email address to send marketing communications without your explicit consent. The waitlist signup is for a single launch notification only.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Email delivery providers: We use a third-party service (such as Beehiiv or ConvertKit) to store and send emails. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own marketing.
  • Infrastructure providers: Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes traffic data as part of delivering the Service.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

5. Data retention

Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request deletion or until 30 days after the launch notification is sent, whichever comes first, unless you opt in to further communications.

Once the Service launches, sentence content is permanent by design — that is the core value proposition of Human Sentences. Before submitting a sentence, you will be presented with clear terms confirming that sentences cannot be edited or deleted. Metadata (timestamp, number, location if provided) is retained permanently alongside the sentence.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your waitlist entry and associated data.
  • Objection: Object to our processing of your data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
  • Withdrawal: Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior processing).

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

7. Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. We may use a single session cookie for security purposes (CSRF protection) once interactive features are live. We do not use cookies during the waitlist-only phase.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at hello@humansentences.com.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, Cloudflare DDoS protection, and strict access controls on any stored data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We will notify you of any breach affecting your personal data as required by applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify waitlist members by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
